You and your team can run your day-to-day operations from anywhere with our iOS and Android mobile apps. Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
An updated version of the Jobber app will be rolled out to all users in October. If your apps are set to automatically update, you will get it once the updates are available to your account and your app has been updated to the latest version available at that time.
This article covers functionality that's available with the legacy Jobber App. This functionality will be changing with the updated Jobber App. To see what is coming, check out Requests in the Jobber App (Updated Jobber App).
If you are interested in moving you and your team onto the updated app, start a chat and let our support team know!
Requests can be created internally or submitted by your clients. You can schedule an on-site assessment to have the request appear as a block of time on your calendar, which can be used for when you need to go to a property before creating a quote or job.
Where can requests be created in the app?
Requests can be created in the Jobber App directly on the Day View of your schedule, through the Quick Create Menu, or from the Client page.
To create a Work Request on your schedule, tap into the time slot where you want to schedule it.
This request will default to a one hour time frame starting at the time you selected on your schedule. Before saving, in the Client section choose a client and assign the request to a specific address. Since it shows directly in your schedule, it has already been assigned to you.
Quick Create Menu
To create a request from the quick create menu, click onto the + icon at the bottom right of the screen and choose Request.
To create a request from the client page, tap onto the Request tab and select New Request.
Because this request is made directly from the client page, this client's information is already linked to it. You will need to enter in a description, fill out the form, and choose to toggle on the assessment in order to schedule it to the calendar.
Filling out the request
Depending on which screen you create the request from, some of the information (such as client) might already be filled out for you, but let's take a look at a completely blank work request.
The first part to fill out is the client's name. Tap the + icon to either select an existing client or create a new one. To be able to save a request, you need to enter a client but all the other fields are optional. From there we can add a description of the request, this is usually a short description of the kind of service this client is looking for.
Next is the on-site assessment. This is what gives the request a date and time which lets you see it on your schedule. If you have to go to a property to look at it before creating a quote or a job, on-site assessments are a good way to set aside that time.
When creating a request from this menu, scheduling an on-site assessment is optional. To schedule the request, toggle the on-site assessment to ON. Enter the date, time, and assign a team member to this on-site assessment. To have the request appear on a team member's schedule, it will need to have an on-site assessment that is assigned to that team member.
After the on-site assessment are the assessment instructions. This is an internal description for the assigned team so this is a good spot to leave notes for your team about what needs to be done while on this assessment.
Service details and online booking form
Next are the service details, this section can be setup to be more custom to your business from the Jobber Website if you go to the Gear Icon > Settings > Requests, so if there are particular questions or information you like to gather upfront that can be set up online. This field can be filled out internally by you or your team in the app, or clients can submit requests with this information as well which can then have an on-site assessment scheduled so it can be viewed in the app.
If you have an online booking form as part of your request, you will see options for when this on-site assessment should occur. This would typically be filled out by the client online, but you have the option to fill out these fields from the app as well. These questions are around what day and arrival time would work best for the client, so you can reference that when scheduling work for them.
Deleting a request
If you need to delete a request from the app, navigate to the request and click Edit. Scroll down to the very bottom of the request and tap the text for Delete Request. You will be asked again to delete the request, so if you accidentally tap that button you can still back out of it. To permanently delete the request, tap Delete.
