Overview
Quote options make it easy to give your clients clear choices without creating multiple quotes. Whether you’re offering different services, materials, or levels of quality, you can build option sets directly into your quote so clients can compare and select the option that works best for them. This helps you present work professionally, speed up approvals, and increase upsell opportunities—all within a single quote.

Quote options (using option sets) are one way you can set up your quote to give clients clear choices between different packages or service levels. Another way to add flexibility on your quotes is with optional line items, which work best for upsells or add-ons that a client can include but aren’t required to choose. Optional line items are ideal for extras like seasonal services or warranties, while quote options guide clients to make one clear decision between alternatives such as materials, equipment models, or good/better/best packages.
Note: Quote options are currently only available on Jobber.com. If you open a quote with options in the Jobber mobile app, you will see a message that you must edit the quote from Jobber.com.
Add options on quotes
To set up a quote with options, start by creating a quote. A fast way to create a quote is to select Create from the side navigation, then select Quote.
From the quote, scroll to the Product / Service section. Now we can start building out the options on this quote. There are different types of content that can be included on a quote with options, including:
- Line items: Line items are the individual products or services that make up a quote. Each line item includes details like the name, description, quantity, unit price, and total cost. Line items can be marked as optional to indicate optional add-ons or upsells.
- Build option sets: An option set is a group of options your client will pick from (for example, different materials, service packages, or levels of quality).
- Text: Text on quotes lets you add written details that aren’t tied to pricing. This can include instructions, disclaimers, notes, or other important information you want your client to see when reviewing their quote.
Select the type of content that you'd like to add to this quote.
How to add line items
Line items are the building blocks of a quote. Each line item represents a product or service you’re offering, with its own name, description, quantity, unit price, and total.
To add a line item:
- From the Product / Service section of your quote, select Add Line Item.
- Enter the details, including the item name, description, and price.
Adjust the quantity and unit price as needed.
You can add up to 99 line items on a single quote, making it easy to capture every detail of the work you’re quoting.
How to add an option set
Option sets allow your client to choose the option that works best for them among a set of alternatives. Each set can contain multiple options (between 2 and 5 line items), and your client will select one before approving the quote.
To add an option set:
- From the Product / Service section, select Build Option Set.
- Give your set a title that explains what the client is choosing (for example, Choose a furnace or Pick a service package).
- Add line items to the set. Each option can include its own description, quantity, price, and even photos. Keep in mind that clients will only select one of these items.
- Repeat this process to add more sets if your quote includes multiple decision points.
Quotes can include up to 3 option sets, making it easy to offer good/better/best packages, product alternatives, or service levels in a clear and professional layout.
How to add text
Text can be added to quotes for information that isn’t tied to pricing. Use text to highlight details, set expectations, or share policies with your clients.
To add text:
From the quote, select Add.
Enter your text.
Text keeps your quotes clear and complete, giving clients the context they need alongside the pricing details.
What do your clients see?
When you send a quote with options, your client will open it through the link in their text or email from you. This message will include a link to view the quote in client hub. Client hub is where clients can make payments, request changes, and view their quotes and invoices.
The quote displays a clear breakdown of all products, services, and choices you’ve included.
If your quote has build option sets, your client will:
- Review each option side by side, with details like descriptions, prices, and photos.
- Select their preferred option by clicking on it–they can only select one option from the build set.
Approve the quote once they’ve made their choice.
Only the option they select will be confirmed and carried forward into the job, invoice, and workflow. The other options remain visible on the quote record for reference.
Note: The example shown here includes fields from Jobber’s Advanced Quote Customization. Some features in the screenshot, like custom sections or added visuals, may not appear on every quote.
When you download or share a quote as a PDF, only the option your client selected from each build option set is shown. The selected option appears as a regular included line item and is included in the quote totals. Unselected options do not appear on the PDF.
