Referrals are the cheapest and fastest way to acquire new customers and LoyalAs automates the referral process for you. Using this integration you can automate your referral process with LoyalAs and then view the referral in Jobber so that you can credit your clients and schedule their work right away.
This integration is available on Core, Connect, or Grow Plans in all countries.
Note: Make sure to disable referrals in client hub since you will be handling your referrals in LoyalAs instead of Jobber. Referrals settings are managed from the Gear Icon > Setting > Client hub.
Set up the integration
The integration between LoyalAs and Jobber can be set up either from LoyalAs or from Jobber. If you have yet to create an account with LoyalAs, you can sign up here and be taken through the integration process with Jobber right away.
There are other options to import customers into LoyalAs, such as through QuickBooks. When Jobber and LoyalAs are connected, the other options are disabled since your customers in LoyalAs will come from Jobber.
Connect via LoyalAs
Right after signing up for LoyalAs, you will see a checklist on your dashboard to get your account set up so you can launch your referral program. One of the first items on the list is to connect LoyalAs with Jobber (or QuickBooks) to sync your clients into LoyalAs. Click Connect QuickBooks or Jobber.
This will take you to your settings in LoyalAs. From this page, under customer sync click Jobber.
Then from the next page, click the Connect button.
Then hang tight while LoyalAs connects to Jobber. This can take up to two minutes. Once connected, your clients from Jobber will be brought into LoyalAs and you will be able to view them from the Customer tab in LoyalAs.
Connect via Jobber's app marketplace
To set up the integration between LoyalAs and Jobber, start by signing into both your Jobber account as well as your LoyalAs account.
From Jobber, click Apps from the side navigation. From the list of apps, select LoyalAs.
This page covers the features and benefits of the LoyalAs integration as well as some support resources. From the LoyalAs integration page, click Connect.
Next, you'll be asked to allow LoyalAs access to your Jobber account. Click Allow Access.
LoyalAs is now connecting to Jobber, which can take up to two minutes. Once connected, your clients from Jobber will be brought into LoyalAs and you will be able to view them from the Customer tab in LoyalAs.
Now that your clients from Jobber are customers in LoyalAs, any edits made to your client list in Jobber (such as adding new clients, editing existing clients, or deleting clients) will be instantly reflected in LoyalAs. Any edits to specific clients (for example, name or email address changes) will need to be made in Jobber as customer information cannot be changed in LoyalAs. If a customer is deleted from LoyalAs, they still remain a client Jobber but are removed from LoyalAs.
From the drop-down menus at the top of the list, customers can be sorted by:
- invoice count
- invoice total
- modified date
and then ordered by:
There are columns for:
- name - this is the client name
- last ask - the most recent time you sent this customer a referral link, so you can keep an eye on how frequently you are asking this client for a referral
- send method - there are icons here to email this customer or to copy their unique referral link
To send emails to your customers from this list (such as to introduce your loyalty program), check the box in the left column for each client. You can select customers one at a time, or select multiple at once. Once customers are selected, the Select Customers button becomes an Email Customers button.
Settings in LoyalAs
LoyalAs sends out referral prompts to your new clients at a set number of days after they have paid their first invoice. Existing clients who have already paid invoices will not receive an automatically sent email. Instead, the referral program announcement email will need to be manually sent. When a new client requests work from you based on an existing client's referral, both clients earn a credit.
In LoyalAs, there are three settings to customize the referral process for your business:
Set up rewards
Now that Jobber and LoyalAs are connected, it's time to set your rewards for referrals. These rewards are the amount of credit that both existing customers can earn for a referral as well as new clients who have been referred.
Navigate to the Settings tab in LoyalAs, then from the Rewards section click Edit. This page is where you will enter the dollar amount ($) in referral credit for both referrers and new customers. The amount for each referral type can be the same or different.
Once both reward amounts have been entered, click Update.
In the future, if you want to update the reward dollar amounts for either referrers or new customers, navigate back to the Settings tab in LoyalAs, then from the Rewards section click Edit.
Set up send date
LoyalAs sends out a referral prompt to a client at a set number of days after their first invoice is paid. In LoyalAs, the number of days out from the invoice paid date can be customized. Go to Settings, then from the Set Date section, click Edit.
Edit email template
LoyalAs sends emails automatically when certain referral milestones are achieved. These emails are all based on templates that can be customized from Settings > Emails > Edit.
There are email templates to:
- Ask for a referral, send a referral link
- Note: This is the email that is sent to new customers automatically as well as existing customers to announce your referral program
- Thank current customer for referral
- New referred customer requests work
- New customer pays 1st invoice, notify referring customer of credit
Each of the email templates is editable. The templates use variables that customize details like the customer name so that relevant customer information is auto-populated into the email without you having to customize those detail for each email. The variables in the email templates are indicated by words between double curly brackets.
To preview the email, click Save, then click Send yourself a test. This email will be hitting your inbox shortly so that you can see how this email will appear as if you were a customer.
How the integration works
Through LoyalAs, emails with a custom referral link are automatically sent to your customers once they have paid an invoice in Jobber. The referral email is sent a set amount of days after the invoice has been paid, or you can manually send referral links. These emails contain a custom referral link that your customers can forward to their friends to refer your business. Referrals sent by customers, new referrals, as well as credits earned by existing and referred clients are tracked in LoyalAs, and then they can be applied towards a future invoice in Jobber.
The custom referral link opens a request form powered by LoyalAs where new clients can request work from your company.
Once the form is submitted, the customer is added as a client in your Jobber account with a request created with the client's contact details. The request will show LoyalAs as the Booking source. There is also a field for Referral with a link to the client in your Jobber account who made the referral.
The details about the work the customer is looking to have done will appear as a note on the request. This note will be linked to any quotes, jobs, and invoices that are linked to this request so that you can reference the credit they've earned and manually add the discount. The note shows the name of the client who made the referral as well as the referral credit amount.
You will be notified about the new booking request via activity feed, Jobber app push notification, and admin users will receive an email from LoyalAs alerting them to the new request.
For every referral (both newly referred clients and existing clients who have provided a referral) you will need to add the referral amount manually.
The new client will have a note on their request which you can reference for the discount amount. For the existing client who made the referral, you may want to add a note on their client profile and link it to their quotes and invoices as a reminder about the discount they have earned with the referral. Discounts can be applied using the discount field, or as a negative line item. Learn more about discounts.
Note: Referral discounts are not added to invoices or quotes automatically.
