What does the cost provided by the integration actually represent?
The price shown in Jobber comes directly from The Home Depot and reflects the national average price for purchasing that product online. This means the price in Jobber will usually match the price you’d find in most Home Depot stores across the United States. However, local prices may vary due to factors like:
- Regional differences in supply and demand
- Temporary sales or markdowns at your local store
If you’d like to confirm the exact cost for your area, just click the View product at Home Depot link in Jobber. That will take you straight to The Home Depot’s website, where you can double-check local availability and pricing. Sale prices are also not accounted for in the national price that the integration provides.
When I go to my local Home Depot store, am I likely to see the same price?
Yes, in most cases you’ll see the same price at your local The Home Depot store, as long as the item is available there. For more details, see the previous question about how pricing works.
Is there a way to tell if the items I am searching for will be available in my local store?
Currently, the integration does not provide local store availability information. The easiest way to find out is to click the “View product at Home Depot” button in Jobber. From there, you can select your preferred Home Depot store to check local stock and pricing directly on their website.
If this workflow is very important to you, we would love to hear about it in the feedback section of this Jobber Lab.
What does ‘In stock online’ mean in the search results?
The “In stock online” label means that the item is available for purchase on homedepot.com. If an item is discontinued or out of stock nationally, it will appear as “Out of stock online” instead, meaning it can’t currently be purchased through The Home Depot’s online store.
Can I add Home Depot products on my quote templates?
Yes you can! Here’s how it works:
- When creating or editing a quote template, you can search the Home Depot catalog just like you can when building a regular quote
- Any Home Depot items added to a quote template will be automatically tracked for price updates
- If prices have changed since you last used that template, Jobber will:
- Update the cost fields for those items
- Show a banner at the top of your quote to let you know that some costs have changed
This will ensure your quotes always reflect the most up-to-date Home Depot costs.
Can I add Home Depot products to my list of Products & Services?
No, at this time there isn’t an option to save a Home Depot item to your list of products and services. Currently, Home Depot products can only be added when creating or editing quotes. If this workflow is very important to your business, please let us know in the feedback section of this Jobber Lab.
Can I search for Home Depot products when creating a job from scratch?
No, at this time there isn’t an option to access the Home Depot catalog during job creation. It is currently only available when creating or editing quotes. If this workflow is very important to your business, please let us know in the feedback section of this Jobber Lab.
Can I customize the line item details after I’ve added a Home Depot item to a quote?
Yes. The following fields are completely customizable:
- Quantity
- Unit cost
- Unit price
- Description
- Image
Even if you edit these fields, you’ll still be able to view the original values by clicking the Home Depot logo with the bubble around it.The only field that cannot be customized is the name field. If modifying item names is very important to your quoting workflow, please let us know in the feedback section of this Jobber Lab.
Will the images be shown to my clients?
Yes. The Home Depot product images will appear for your clients in both the PDF versions of your quotes and in client hub. Clients will also see all the other main line item details (such as description and unit price). The only details that remain hidden are your unit cost and the Home Depot logo bubble displayed below each Home Depot line item.
Will the costs ever automatically update on my quotes?
No. Once you generate and save a quote, the cost values will not be automatically updated by the integration, especially not if the quote has already been sent to a client or approved. In the future, we are exploring options to automatically update costs, but only for quotes that are still in draft state.
If this workflow would be valuable to your business, please let us know in the feedback section of this Jobber Lab.
Will there be other suppliers to search from in the future, or only The Home Depot?
Yes. Jobber is actively working with additional retailers and distributors to provide similar integrated functionality in Jobber.
If there are specific suppliers that would make a big impact on your business, please let us know in the feedback section of this Jobber Lab.
Why can't I find certain material using the Home Depot search?
Some material categories aren't currently supported in The Home Depot integration. This includes items like lumber, drywall, or PVC conduit, where pricing varies widely by region.
We're actively working on expanding support for these materials so you'll be able to access more accurate costs for your area in the future.
In the meantime, we'd love to hear your feedback! If there's a particular item you'd like to include on your quotes, but can't find in the Home Depot search, please share your feedback through the lab.
