Overview

Yelp Leads brings your Yelp inquiries straight into Jobber. When you connect Yelp Leads, every new lead from Yelp syncs to Jobber as a client and a request, so you can respond quickly without typing in the lead’s details by hand.

If you haven’t claimed your business on Yelp yet, start at Yelp for Business.

Yelp Leads availability

The Yelp Leads integration is available on the Core plan and up, for businesses in the United States and Canada. To use it, you need a claimed business on Yelp with the Request a Quote feature turned on. View our current pricing plans.

What the Yelp Leads integration does

When you connect Yelp Leads to Jobber, the integration:

  • Syncs each new Yelp lead to Jobber with the client’s details and the job details, so you don’t have to enter them yourself
  • Keeps all your leads in one place, so you can respond faster and win more jobs
  • Checks whether a Yelp lead is already a client in Jobber, using the lead’s phone number
  • Lets you track your win rate on Yelp leads in the Marketing Dashboard

Connect Yelp Leads to Jobber

You need a Yelp for Business account and a claimed business on Yelp before you start.

To connect Yelp Leads to Jobber:

  1. In Jobber on the web, open the App Marketplace, find Yelp Leads, and select Connect.
  2. Review the permissions Jobber requests, then select Allow Access.
  3. On the Connect to Yelp screen, select Connect Yelp Account.
  4. Sign in to your Yelp for Business account, or select Continue with Google.
  5. Review what you’re allowing Jobber to do, then select Continue as with your name. Yelp asks you to allow Jobber to:
    • Access Yelp Leads for you, including reading and responding to messages and storing message data
    • Receive your Yelp profile information: business name, email, photo, and role
    • Display your listing details
  6. Select the Yelp Business Profile you want to connect, then select Continue.

Once you connect, each new lead from Yelp syncs to Jobber automatically as a new request, and as a new client if it doesn’t match one you already have.

What Jobber creates from a Yelp lead

Each new Yelp lead automatically creates a request in Jobber. The request includes:

  • The client’s name and contact details
  • Request Source set to Yelp Leads
  • The client’s message on Yelp, including their answers to Yelp’s intake questions: type of work, project details, size of job, timeline, and service location
  • A note with a direct link to the lead on Yelp, so you can reply to the client from Yelp when you need to

From there, work the Yelp request like any other request in Jobber. You can schedule an assessment, send a quote, or convert the request into a job. See Request Basics for each option.

How Jobber matches Yelp leads to existing clients

When a Yelp lead includes a phone number, Jobber looks for an existing client with the same phone number. If it finds one, the request goes to that client. If the lead has no phone number, or the number doesn’t match a client, Jobber creates a new client.

Yelp hides the client’s real email address, so Jobber can’t match a lead by email. As a result, a Yelp lead can sometimes create a duplicate of a client you already have. If that happens, merge the duplicate clients.

How Yelp masks your client’s email address

Yelp hides the client’s real email address to protect their personal information. Instead, the client’s email in Jobber is a temporary address that Yelp creates. It looks something like this:

[email protected]

The temporary Yelp email address works for up to 30 days after the lead comes in. After that, it expires.

Message a Yelp lead

You can message a Yelp lead in two ways:

  • Email the client from Jobber, using the temporary Yelp address
  • Reply to the client in your Yelp Inbox

Both methods land in the same conversation on Yelp, so your client sees one continuous thread either way. To avoid confusion, stick to one method for each conversation.

Replace the temporary Yelp email address

The temporary Yelp email address only works for messages sent through Yelp, and it expires after 30 days. Ask your client for their real email address early in the conversation. Then update the client’s email address in Jobber.

With a real email address on file, your client can sign in to client hub and receive emails from Jobber, such as quotes, invoices, and other notifications. Without one, those emails go to the temporary Yelp address and stop reaching your client once it expires.
