Overview
Jobber automatically corrects the times on your visits, tasks, events, and assessments scheduled after your region permanently ends daylight saving time, so everything stays at the time you originally booked it.
What’s changing
On November 1, 2026, British Columbia, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories stop observing daylight saving time permanently. Clocks don’t move back this fall.
Jobber saves your scheduled work using the time rules in effect on the day you create it. When those rules change, anything you’d already scheduled past November 1 would display an hour later than you set it. For example, a 9:00 AM visit would start showing as a 10:00 AM visit.
To prevent that, Jobber updates the times on the following items scheduled after November 1, 2026:
- Visits
- Tasks
- Events
- Assessments
Each item goes back to the time you originally scheduled it. A visit you booked for 9:00 AM on November 15 stays a 9:00 AM visit.
Note: Work scheduled before November 1, 2026 isn’t affected.
What you need to do
You don’t need to do anything. Jobber makes this change for you.
The one thing that helps is keeping your web browser up to date. Your browser keeps its own copy of the world’s time zone rules and uses that copy to display your schedule. If that copy is out of date, your schedule can show the wrong times even after Jobber corrects them.
To check that your browser is current in Chrome:
- Select the three dots menu in the top right of your browser.
- Select Help, then select About Google Chrome.
- If an update is available, it downloads automatically.
- Restart your browser to finish applying it.
Note: Chrome downloads updates in the background but only applies them when you restart. If you tend to leave your browser open for long stretches, restarting it is often enough.
If you use the Jobber app on an iPhone or iPad, there’s nothing to do. The app already has the updated time zone rules. On Android, the rules arrive with your normal system updates.
Why your visit times might look an hour off
Depending on when you look and how current your browser is, you might see times that don’t match what you scheduled. There are three situations:
- Before Jobber makes the correction, with an up-to-date browser. Your work scheduled after November 1 shows an hour later than you scheduled it. This is the problem Jobber is fixing.
- After Jobber makes the correction, with an out-of-date browser. Your work scheduled after November 1 shows an hour earlier than you scheduled it. Updating and restarting your browser fixes this.
- After Jobber makes the correction, with an up-to-date browser. Everything shows the time you originally scheduled.
If your times still look wrong once your browser is up to date, please get in touch so our support team can take a look.
Frequently asked questions about the time zone change
Do I need to do anything?
No. Jobber corrects your scheduled times for you. The only thing worth doing is making sure your web browser is up to date, so your schedule displays correctly.
What exactly is Jobber changing?
Jobber changes the start and end times of visits, tasks, events, assessments, and their attached reminders scheduled after November 1, 2026. Nothing else on your account changes. That includes your jobs, your clients, your quotes, your invoices, and your line items.
Will my clients be notified that their appointment time changed?
No. Your clients won’t receive a notification about this correction. From their point of view nothing is changing, because the appointment stays at the time you booked it. Jobber updates reminders along with the visit, so your clients still get them at the right time.
I already moved some of my visits myself. Will Jobber move them again?
If you manually moved your visits 1 hour back in anticipation of this change before September 23, please get in touch. Jobber’s support team makes sure your account is correct.
I don’t want Jobber to touch my schedule. Can I opt out?
Yes. Contact our support team and let them know. Keep in mind that if you opt out, your existing scheduled work after November 1 displays an hour later than you scheduled it. You’d need to correct it yourself.
Does this affect visits in the past, or my reports?
No. Only work scheduled after November 1, 2026 is affected. Past visits stay exactly as they are. Jobber doesn’t change your reports or timesheets.
What about work I schedule from now on?
Once Jobber updates its systems, it saves anything new you schedule with the correct time automatically. This is a one-time fix for work that was already on your calendar.
My time zone in Jobber is set to the wrong region. What happens?
For a small number of accounts, Jobber is also correcting the time zone in your settings as part of this change.
To check or change your time zone, navigate to the Gear Icon, then select Settings. Your time zone is under Regional settings. Learn more about Company Settings.
