Integration settings
Once CompanyCam and Jobber have been connected, you'll land back on the Integrations page in CompanyCam. In the Jobber card, there is a checkbox for Sync Primary Contacts to CompanyCam.
This box will be unchecked by default. Checking the box and then clicking Update will automatically populate the "Contact Info" section of a Project in CompanyCam every time a new Project is created from Jobber.
When the Sync Primary Contacts to CompanyCam box is left deselected, the contact info section is left blank and won't automatically populate the contact information from Jobber.
How the integration works
- When a new client (and property) is created in Jobber, a new Project will be created in CompanyCam
- When a new request, quote, or job is created in Jobber, the label for the matching Project in CompanyCam will be updated
- When a photo is added to a Project in CompanyCam, it will automatically sync to the most recently created or updated active request, quote, or job for that matching property in Jobber
The photos syncing from CompanyCam to Jobber are always synced as internal notes for the most recently updated request, quote, or job in Jobber. The notes will appear as created by a user named “CompanyCam”. Notes are grouped based on the timestamps of files uploaded to a CompanyCam Project, where images from one date are grouped together in the same note. Throughout the day, if multiple photos are uploaded into CompanyCam with timestamps from that same day, the note in Jobber will be updated to include the new photos from that same day. If photos are uploaded the next day, a new note will be created in Jobber.
Note: the max file size is 50MB and videos are not supported.
The sync always uses the client’s property address to match CompanyCam Projects to Jobber requests, quotes, or jobs. If a new request, quote, or job is created in Jobber for an older client property address that already existed as a project in CompanyCam, then the property will automatically become connected, however, the addresses must match exactly. For example, if an address in Jobber uses the word “avenue”, it must be the same in CompanyCam... even using “ave” instead could lead to duplicate projects. If you do end up with duplicate projects in CompanyCam, they can be merged. When merging a Company Cam project into a new one linked with Jobber, it's expected that photos previously added to the old project will sync into the notes on active requests, quotes, and jobs for that client in Jobber.
If you have photos in a CompanyCam Project that uploaded before any requests, quotes, or jobs are created in Jobber, they will automatically sync to the next request, quote, or job that is created for that property.
In CompanyCam, a label will appear on each Project to indicate where the Project was most recently linked in Jobber. This is the easiest way to tell if any new photos being taken will sync over to the request, quote, or job in Jobber. The labels are:
- Jobber Property
- Jobber Request
- Jobber Quote
- Jobber Job
The photos that have been added to a CompanyCam Project automatically sync as an internal note to the most recently created request, quote, or job in Jobber for that property address.
Custom fields
A link to the CompanyCam Project will be automatically added as a transferable custom field on properties–the custom field just needs to be created first. Since the custom field is transferrable, the CompanyCam Project link will show up on quotes, jobs, and invoices for that property so that the property images can be easily accessed.
To create a custom field:
- Click the Gear Icon > Settings > Custom Fields.
- From the Property Custom Fields Section, click +Add Field.
- Start filling out the fields, just like this:
- Applies to: All properties
- Transferable field: ✅
- Custom field name: CompanyCam Project
- Note: This text must match "CompanyCam Project" exactly, with no added spaces or other characters.
- Field type: Text field
- Default value: Leave this blank
Once the fields are all filled out, click Create Custom Field.
Once created, your custom field will appear in the property details section of a client but also be accessible on quotes, jobs, and invoices since the field is transferrable. The integration will automatically fill in the URL to the CompanyCam Project.
Note linking
In Jobber, internal notes left on jobs can be linked to invoices that are generated from that job. If there are images that have come from CompanyCam that you would like to share with your client when you send them an invoice, linking the note will transfer those images as an internal note on the invoice which can then be shared as an attachment when emailing the invoice.
Note: Note linking doesn't work retroactively. To have the images carry over to invoices, the checkbox must be selected to link the notes before the invoice is generated.
How to disconnect the CompanyCam integration
To disconnect CompanyCam from Jobber, navigate to Apps from the side navigation, then select CompanyCam from the list. From the CompanyCam heading, select Disconnect. You will be asked to confirm the disconnect, select Yes.
