Overview

The activity feed gives you a real-time snapshot of everything happening in your Jobber account, all in one place. Whether a quote was approved, a payment was collected, or a team member completed a visit, the Activity Feed keeps you in the loop without digging through individual records.

You’ll see a running list of updates as they happen, with details like who made the change and which client or item it relates to.

Requests, timesheets, quotes, and invoices each have their own history feed that tracks changes specific to that record. Learn more in Request Basics, Timesheets, Quote Basics, and Invoice Basics.

Activity feed availability

Activity feed is available on the Connect and Grow plans. View our current pricing plans.

To check what plan you’re on, navigate to the Gear Icon then select Account and Billing. If you have any questions about your plan’s features or pricing, our support team is here to help!

Note: Only users with permission to view clients in their Jobber menu can see the activity feed. What appears in the feed is scoped further by permission. For example, you’ll only see job activity if you have permission to view jobs. Note-related activity requires both permission to view all notes and permission to view the related item.

Find notifications

The activity feed appears in the top right of your account as a Bell Icon. A new notification highlights the icon in red.

Select the Bell Icon to open a sidebar showing the feed of updates.

Each activity feed notification displays:

  • Team member who made the update
  • Updated item type, for example client, quote, job, invoice, or note
  • Client name, if applicable
  • Item number, if applicable
  • Total, if applicable

Note: The visit date shown for confirmed visits follows the date format set in your Company Settings.

Notifications

Notifications are triggered by the following actions:

  • Timers: Users clocking in and out.
  • Clients: When clients and leads are created, deleted, archived, and unarchived as well as when CSV imports are started and completed.
  • Requests: When requests are created, submitted, converted (into a quote or job), and deleted.
  • Quotes: When quotes are created, sent, viewed by the client for the first time, changes are requested, converted, approved, and deleted.
  • Jobs: When jobs are created or deleted.
  • Visits: When visits are confirmed as well as when they are completed.
  • Invoices: When invoices are created, sent, and deleted.
  • Deposits: When a deposit is collected, edited (such as added to an invoice), or deleted.
  • Payments: When a payment is collected (either manually or through client hub), edited, and deleted.
  • Automatic Payments: When automatic payments are collected, or when Jobber is unable to collect an automatic payment.
  • Notes: When notes are created and deleted.
  • Cards: When a client saves a card on file.
  • Reviews: When a client leaves a review through Reviews | Marketing Tools.
  • Profit margin: When the profit on a job drops below your set threshold, you’ll see a notification for “A job dropped below your minimum profit threshold” with the job number and client name. Learn more about Job Costing

How long Activity Feed data is kept

Jobber keeps Activity Feed notifications for up to one year from your account’s most recent activity. Everyday use, like creating a quote or collecting a payment, resets this one-year window. Your feed history stays current as long as your account stays active.

If your account has no activity for over a year, such as an expired trial, Jobber removes the related Activity Feed notifications. Accounts with occasional or seasonal activity aren’t affected, as long as something happens at least once a year.

Customize Feed

To select which items are shown in the activity feed, click the Bell Icon from the top navigation, then select Customize Feed.

To customize which items appear in the activity feed, use the toggles to enable or disable each type of notification. Notification types include:

  • Clients
  • Requests
  • Quotes
  • Jobs
  • Visits
  • Invoices
  • Payments
  • Notes
  • Job costs
  • Reviews
  • Marketing
  • Timesheets
  • Tasks created by Receptionist

Activity feed shows the most recent 100 notifications when unfiltered. You can add additional toggles to activity feed to narrow down which items are shown out of those 100 items.

The notification preferences are remembered for each admin user. This means that different admins can have different preferences for the kinds of notifications they see by default when they open the activity feed.
