Overview
When people search Google AI Mode for local home services, Google can recommend your business and let them request or book work with you directly. Requests come in through the request or booking form you’ve assigned to Google in Jobber. There are no lead fees for requests that come through Google AI Mode.
The integration is available at no extra cost to businesses in the United States with an active, paid Jobber subscription. Trial accounts can’t appear in Google AI Mode. If your business doesn’t have an address in Jobber or a Google Business Profile yet, start with the setup section below.
Set up your business for Google AI Mode
To appear in Google AI Mode, your business needs all of the following:
- Help clients find my business turned on in your company settings.
- A complete business address in your Jobber company settings.
- A Google Business Profile connected to Jobber, at the same address as your Jobber company settings.
- A request or booking form assigned to Google with the Google Business Profile setting in the form’s Settings tab. Jobber connects your default form to Google automatically.
To connect your Google Business Profile:
- Select Marketing in the main menu.
- Select More, then select Google Profile.
- Select Connect Account.
- Sign in to your Google account when prompted.
To check that Help clients find my business is turned on:
- Select the Gear Icon, then select Settings.
- Select Company Settings.
- In the Company details section, make sure Help clients find my business is turned on.
When Google finds a Google Business Profile at the same address as your Jobber account, it adds a Book Online button to your profile that links to your Jobber form. This happens automatically and usually within a few days. To opt out, turn off Help clients find my business in Company Settings, or turn off the Google Business Profile setting in your form’s Settings tab. Turning off Help clients find my business removes your business from Google AI Mode and removes the Book Online button from your Google Business Profile.
Improve your visibility in Google AI Mode
Once your business meets the requirements above, two things can help Google AI Mode recommend it more often:
- Assign a booking form to Google, not just a request form, so people can book a time with you directly.
- Collect client reviews regularly through Jobber. Reviews help Google AI Mode decide which businesses to recommend.
How requests and bookings from Google AI Mode reach you
When someone books or requests work through Google AI Mode, it comes into Jobber the same way any other online booking or request does. It appears on your Homepage, under Requests, or under Jobs, and you get a notification so nothing is missed.
Control what lands on your calendar
To review assessment bookings before they’re confirmed, turn on Require assessment booking approval in your assessment booking form’s settings. With it turned on, assessment bookings, including ones from Google AI Mode, come in as Needs approval instead of being confirmed automatically. You can review each one, then accept or decline it before it’s confirmed. See Requests and Bookings Settings and Schedule an Assessment.
Once you accept or decline a booking, Jobber can automatically send the client a booking confirmation using a saved template or a custom note. See Booking Confirmation.
What to do if your business doesn’t appear in Google AI Mode
If your business isn’t appearing in Google AI Mode, or you don’t see a Book Online button on your Google Business Profile, check the following:
Your business details are missing or don’t match.
Jobber needs a complete address to send your business to Google, and Google matches it to your Google Business Profile using your business details.
- Select the Gear Icon, then select Settings to open Company Settings.
- In the Company details section, choose from the address suggestions as you type it, so it matches Google Maps exactly.
- If your business still doesn’t match, make sure your Phone number and Website URL are the same as on your Google Business Profile.
To hide your address from clients and the public, select Keep address private.
No form is assigned to Google, or Help clients find my business is off.
Jobber connects your default form to Google automatically. A different form is connected instead if you’ve changed the connected form, and no form is connected if you disconnected it from Google or turned off visibility for all of your request forms. Check that:
- A request or booking form has the Google Business Profile setting turned on in its Settings tab.
- Help clients find my business is turned on in Company Settings.
You don’t have a Google Business Profile, or it isn’t connected.
Google has nothing to match your business to. Create or connect a profile using the steps above, and make sure its address matches your Jobber company settings. See Jobber and Google Business Profiles.
Frequently asked questions
Will I get high-quality leads through this?
People using Google AI Mode are actively looking to book a pro, not just browsing. With Require assessment booking approval turned on, you also review every assessment booking from Google AI Mode before it’s confirmed, so you stay in control of what lands on your calendar.
Does this change how I manage my schedule?
No. Google AI Mode uses the same booking settings, hours, and availability windows you already control in Jobber. You can opt out at any time from Company Settings. If you’d rather not take booked assessments or jobs, assign a request form, or an assessment booking form with Require assessment booking approval turned on, to Google instead.
Is this an AI-generated version of my business?
No. Google AI Mode directs people to your real business profile and your actual Jobber booking or request form. You control what’s shared through what you include in your request or booking form, and through your Google Business Profile’s settings. If you don’t have a profile yet, you can create one from Marketing in Jobber.
Do I need to set anything up separately?
Usually not. Jobber connects your default form to Google automatically. If your business isn’t appearing, check that your Google Business Profile is connected, that Help clients find my business is turned on, and that your address, phone number, and website URL match your Google Business Profile. See the troubleshooting section above.
